JOB TITLE: Warehouse Operative

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTING TO: Operations Manager

THE ROLE:
The role involves working as part of a busy warehouse team, receiving goods, storing goods for later use and locating and preparing goods for delivery, to meet customer order requirements.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Goods in receiving:

- Receive goods delivered
- Check items off against delivery notes provided by Operations Manager
- Put stock away in designated pick and replenishment locations, recording these as required
- Set aside damaged goods and report appropriately
- Pass confirmed delivery notes to the Operations Manager
- Replenish pick bays daily to maintain warehouse efficiency
- Following training, use warehouse lifting equipment for warehouse duties

Order picking, packing and dispatch:

- Collect pick lists from the Operations Manager
- Pick individual items from pick bays and check each off against the list
- Ensure that a designated member of staff checks that you have picked the correct items on the picking list
- Pack items in accordance with procedures
- Place individual items and pallets into collection bays
- Print off and attach labels to the goods as required by the relevant courier partner
- Pass completed picking lists to the Operations Manager so that delivery notes can be generated
- Assist with the loading of delivery vehicles
- Ensure delivery notes are signed when orders are dispatched
- Complete and file all paperwork in accordance with procedures

Stock control:

- Conduct stock checks as required
- Conduct cycle counting as scheduled
- Assist with annual stock counts
- Assist with the reworking of product as required

General responsibilities:

- Follow HydroGarden SA Health & Safety procedures
- Keep warehouse areas clean and tidy
- Carry out additional tasks as necessary

THE PERSON:
To be successful in this role, you will be required to demonstrate the following key skills:

- Manage time effectively
- Work in an organised way, prioritising tasks
- Good communication and mathematics
- Work well within a team and also use own initiative
- Previous warehouse experience is preferable but not required

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R10,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
