Maintenance Manager

Pretoria West, South Africa Varsity Lodge Maintenance Solutions Pty Ltd Full time

We are urgently looking for a Maintenance Manager at one of our student accommodation near TUT in Phillip Nel Park Pretoria West. The person will be required to fulfil the following duties which are but not limited to:

- Conducting inspections of student housing units to determine and assess work to be done and work that was done, and set work priorities
- Daily assign duties to maintenance staff by issuing job cards
- Evaluate work done and sign off on job cards if satisfied with the work
- Coordinate emergency and regular repairs to the building and ensure that the site is compliant with all OHS regulations
- Maintain fire protection systems and equipment’s as well as the fire evacuation plan
- Coordinate and manage maintenance repairs to structural, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Coordinate and manage maintenance and repairs of boilers, heating and ventilation systems, weather proofing
- Coordinate and manage maintenance and repairs of finishings, ceilings, flooring and roofing
- Coordinate and manage maintenance and repairs of appliances
- Ensure that all maintenance and gardening equipment are kept clean and in a good condition
- Order maintenance stock and materials
- Collection of materials and stock
- Fleet management
- ensure that the site bakkie is serviced and the licence disk is renewed’
- Ensure that all maintenance staff are trained and are aware of how to operate maintenance tools and equipment
- Manage company’s assets and do stock take every month
- Manage the storeroom and ensure that it is kept neat and tidy and that all shelves are labelled
- Responsible for the management of the petty cash card
- Maintain inventories
- (keys, units, fire equipment, tools, and machinery)
- Ensure that all contractors are issued with job cards and sign off as soon as the work is completed
- General office administration

**Requirements**:

- Matric
- Computer literacy a must with knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Experience in managing staff
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Working knowledge of painting, tilling, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, general building, and waterproofing
- A valid driver’s licence

The Maintenance Manager will be expected to be available on cell phone for after-hours emergencies and may in very exceptional cases be expected to go on site to attend to emergencies.

**NB: The person must reside in or around Pretoria West as no relocation costs/ travel allowance will paid.**
