**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent Principal Provincial Inspector to manage the promotion of road safety through effective and efficient law enforcement in the Province by effective leadership and supervision of subordinates. 1 post is stationed in Vredenburg,1 in Vredendal and 2 in Worcester.

**Minimum Requirements**: Grade 12 (or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 6 years working experience in the field of Traffic Law Enforcement Operations; Must be in possession of a Basic Traffic Diploma; A valid driving license (A and EC); No criminal record.
**Recommendation**: An Examiner of motor vehicles diploma and or registered as an examiner of driving license.
**Key Performance Areas**: Manage and enforce Road Traffic, Public Passenger, Transport Legislation and other relevant legislation's; Manage joint law enforcement activities and projects (co-operative governance); Manage resources and provide leadership and direction to all subordinates; Identify and manage risks; Manage the performance of all administrative activities and related duties.
**Competencies**: Knowledge of the following: Road traffic and Public Transport policies and regulations; Law enforcement knowledge in Traffic and Public Transport; Vehicle inspections; Vehicle impoundment; Operational meeting, deployment and planning skills; Ability to utilise electronic systems and related in daily functions; Written and verbal communication skills.
**Remuneration**:
R 331 188 per annum (Salary level 8).
