Reviews Job Package and prepares the tasks / job.
- Ensures that all materials and necessary equipment and tools are available before jobs start in conjunction with the material co-ordinator.
- Assigns job resources; i.e. assigns tasks as per schedule to individuals doing maintenance like artisans, assistants, crane drivers, riggers, scaffold builders, insulators, bricklayers, tuners, welders, boilermakers, etc.
- Ensure that individuals doing the task understand this task, before they start; he reviews together with person doing the work the job package / tasks.
- Initiates the Work Permit Procedure (maintenance part).
- Ensures that each job task has been completed and that the problem has been rectified.
- Is the formal Focal Point on behalf of Maintenance, which must formally hand over the equipment from the Maintenance Department to the Operations Department.
- Ensures that the work order copy is completed for history to be fed back in data base. This includes:

- Working hours spend, including reasons for deviations of planned time.
- Possible reasons for failure / repair
- Parts changed out
- Alignment and calibration data
- Recommendation for next service
- Ensures that the job package, including completed work order copy to be documented.
- Assists the person doing the work in establishing whether the job can be carried out (permit conditions, previous task completed) and if necessary assign other work to the concerned person.
- Assists in allocation of resources for resource levelling.
- If required, he obtains technical input from the Engineering Manager, SME, PPM-inspector, etc.
- Daily decides which jobs to be included in the daily/weekly schedule.
- Manages maintenance work backlog.
- Ensures that all SHE aspects are taken into account to execute the job in a safe manner. If required, he liaises with the SHE appointee
- Ensuring that spares and materials are always available, and by issuing any orders for spares and other materials required on all planned maintenance activities.
- Compiling and controlling rosters of the Artisans and Utility staff
- Ensuring that activities and time worked is completed on the job cards and recorded for record keeping purposes
- Keeping a check on supplies and spares and raise the necessary orders.
- Ordering and controlling PPE of Artisans and Utility staff working on the maintenance job, if and when required
- Arranging formal training for Artisans and Utility staff, and providing input into the development of this training
- Controlling the overtime of Artisans and Utility Staff
- Attending safety talks and safety meetings
- Compiling reports on maintenance work carried out

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Grade 12
- N3 Technical qualification with millwright trade test.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role
- Knowledge in SAP PM and MM
- Forklift, Overhead crane
- Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license
- Must be prepared to work overtime and standby duties.
