Treasury Clerk

What will you do?

Santam Group Treasury has a permanent position available for a Treasury Clerk who will be based at the Tygervalley Head Office, Bellville.

The successful incumbent will form part of the Treasury Accounting team, providing accounting and Treasury activities for banking transactions and query-resolution services. The person will be responsible for producing bank reconciliations and processing of accounting entries in the JDE accounting system.

Support the Treasury Accountant by producing Treasury reports and providing input into ad hoc projects to improve efficiency and data integrity. What will make you successful in this role?

Processing of electronic payments on various banks’ online systems
Ensure timeous allocation of bank statement items
Resolution of unallocated bank reconciling items
Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts and process Journal Entries in JD Edwards accounting system
Provide Treasury Analytics for month-end reporting
Timeous escalation and query resolution with internal and external stakeholders
Support the Treasury Accountant with ad hoc projects for process improvements Qualification and Experience

Matric
Relevant Finance or Accounting Degree /Diploma
At least 3 years’ bank reconciliation experience within a large corporate environment Skills and Knowledge

Advanced Excel proficiency
Working experience and knowledge of Accounting principles (i.e. reconciliations; general ledger; financial statements and journals)
