**The Role**:
We're looking for a Lead Java Developer to develop features for our Remote Gaming Platform. RGP is our innovative platform which delivers exciting world class games and enables us to integrate with any operator in the world, providing thrilling gaming experiences to millions of players Roxor develops and provides a wide variety of much loved games, from single player slots to multiplayer live casino games.

As a Technical Lead, you will become a technical domain expert in the RGP platform. You will work closely with the Technical Architects to design and consider how to best deliver our features and improve our platform. You will be a technical expert who will guide the development teams, helping them deliver good quality solutions and improve their technical standards. As a core part of the business, you can expect to be working with both internal and external games teams who will be delivering their games to the player via the RGP platform.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Design technical solutions to a high standard.
- Understand the current architecture and suggests how new technologies could be used to improve it.
- Maintains the 'big picture' of the system architecture and provides guidance to the team on its detail.
- Negotiate and weigh alternative approaches to resolving technical challenges.
- Ensure team's work follows the team and departmental technical guidelines.
- Liaise with other teams to ensure software is compatible and bug free.
- Work with the team to ensure the Technical Architects vision is met.
- Highlight and act upon technical risks.
- Assist the teams with resolving complex live issues.
- Champions technical best practices, mentoring others to improve standards
- Performance testing (including load testing).
- Assist line managers by giving advice on technical staff development, where needed.

**Key Skills/Experience**
- Server-side core Java development
- NoSQL database development e.g. MongoDB
- Spring framework
- Testing good practices: TDD, unit, integration, function and performance testing
- Maven, Git
- Linux command shell
- Working on high-volume and highly available websites
- Docker
- Kubernetes

**Desirable**:

- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
- Experience in gaming industry a plus
- Hazelcast
- Ansible
- Camel or similar
- Spring MVC, Spring Webflux, Spring JDBC, Spring Boot
- Google cloud API: particularly BigQuery & Cloud Dataflow.
- GoCD, GitLab CI/CD
- Jmeter, Postman or similar
- Istio, Linkerd
- Nginx
- Interest in developing front end Javascript code a plus
