The Digital Strategist is responsible for providing the company clients with cohesive and cost-effective digital strategies best suited to meet their digital communication strategy and objectives.

While the Digital Strategist may not possess the coding and design skills to create websites and other digital products and services, they must understand the fundamentals of website frameworks, structures and user experience; social media platforms; mobile technology; and interpreting digital analytics; and more. This is required so the Digital Strategist can appropriately advise clients, oversee internal teams and digital outputs; and problem-solve technical issues with the team.

The Digital Strategist is responsible to research and stay abreast of the latest digital developments and general content requirements from stakeholders; and share this insight effectively within the company. The strategist should be innovative and able to develop unique digital products and solutions for company clients addressing specific or anticipated needs, leverage his/her own experience and research, and that of the broader internal team.

The Digital Strategist is also responsible for working with all parties involved with a company client to achieve maximum efficiencies of scale from employees and the delivery of projects on time, and to the quality expected by the company.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Customer focus:

- Plan, execute and provide products and solutions that are within scope, meet deadlines and meet or exceed customer expectations
- Ensure that the client is kept abreast of progress, issues, risks and milestones reached during a project’s duration
- Responsible for the quality of digital products and solutions delivered internally (for example, the company website) and to clients
- Deliver excellence through effective resource management and interaction with relevant company resources and, if required, freelancers/suppliers
- Continuously share and brainstorm new digital ideas and innovations within the company and clients to increase client and revenue growth in digital service offerings
- Build client relationships (internal and external)
- Project management of corporate and/or other digital products and services not related to specific interim and annual reports, and provide project management support where needed on other digital elements

Workflow process:

- Identify and implement workflow processes to maximise efficiency and cost effectiveness of digital projects and products
- Ensure the digital team are up to speed with digital technologies and that best practise is implemented
- Efficient allocation of work within the digital team
- Communicate with suppliers/freelancers when required to ensure seamless interaction with other employees

Risk management
- Maintain the integrity of company’s development site
- Ensure products developed for clients are migrated to live environments in accordance with the milestones in the project plans
- Proactively manage project risks, implementing and managing project changes and interventions
- Ensure all digital products and services are in accordance with the POPI act and GDPR guidelines

Finance and administration:

- Monitor project costs and potential risks against agreed scope and cost, and communicate actual and potential risks internally and with client, aligned with company processes
- Ensure all software and platform licences supporting digital products are on the latest versions and paid for, following company processes
- Ensure that all project back-ups are made and stored in line with company processes
- Ensure that employees working on digital projects capture time as per processes
- Keep the finance team up to date with possible capital expenditure projects and supply quotes when required

Relationships:

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless integrated quality products to clients
- Responsible for overall quality output of digital products and solutions
- Source good and reliable suppliers as third party options dependent on the work scope required

Company strategy:

- Maintain and promote company culture and its values
- Take accountability for own development through research, internal and external training
- Take accountability for growing company digital service offering and related revenues including through research, being on top of digital and content trends and best practice, and sharing with the broader teams
- Implement any Group initiatives that are required
- Drive the impetus of the company from an analogue-led institution to a digital one
- Any other responsibilities delegated by your line manager
