Key Accountabilities
Perform quality control testing of incoming raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to defined specifications;
Perform environmental testing; Perform investigations, as needed;
Perform data analysis;
Maintain and utilize aseptic technique;
Operate and maintain testing instrumentation and laboratory facilities;
Assist with development of microbial methodology;
Assist with continuous improvement of processes and systems Maintain and procure or prepare parts and supplies necessary to perform required testing
Complete all required testing and laboratory documentation
Perform all testing and documentation with compliance to cGMPs and Standard Operating Procedures Assist with sample and laboratory waste management
Assist with laboratory maintenance and housekeeping
Assist with documentation review and other compliance support Accept and complete, in a timely fashion, special projects as assigned by the QC Laboratory Manager
Keep supervisor informed as to the status of tasks, tests and processes
Follow all procedures established for safety
Keep current with areas of technology and testing related to analytical laboratories
Keep current with cGMP regulations
Work with sales team to build and grow business.
Profile Matric certificate and bachelor’s degree in microbiology or related science field:
Experience: > 3-5 years in Microbiology,
B2B is preferable,
Food sector (FMCG Market) is preferable;
Languages:
English,
Afrikaans,
Zulu will be advantageous;
Computer literacy:
Office computer (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
Other expertise:
Business & result driven, presentation skill, strong interpersonal skills: establishes easily contacts, sales and negotiation skills, team player.
Required Competencies Condition of employment requires knowledge and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) as applicable to the position.
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or related science field Practical microbiology testing experience, including total aerobic and anaerobic count testing, pathogen testing, yeast and mold testing, etc.
Knowledge of aseptic technique; Strong microscopy skills; Good writing skills; Goal oriented, with strong time management and organizational skills; Mathematical skills including the ability to analyze scientific and test data, and a basic understanding of statistical analysis;
Ability to perform testing properly with mínimal supervision;
Ability to follow SOP’s and properly document test procedures and results;
Working knowledge of MS Office Products;
Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills;
Must possess good problem-solving abilities;
Must be capable of performing assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner;
Must be able to work effectively under pressure;
Strong attention to detail.
**Salary**: R9,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
