**Job Purpose**

To analyse, research and provide strategic advice and input into the developmental aspects of the Programme and all work carried out by the Office, to optimise the developmental potential and beneficiation of the Programme, whilst ensuring its contribution to economic transformation and socio-economic development in South Africa.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic conceptualisation and advisory to the Economic Development (ED), and in particular, the Socio-Economic Development (SED) and Enterprise Development (EnD) aspects of them Programme.
- Facilitate and provide oversight on the developmental impact of the Programme and provide advice on its long-term strategic direction.
- Prepare briefing, concept and advisory notes on the developmental aspects of the Programme for Office Senior Management and Ministry Officials to facilitate their stakeholder engagement in the broad sphere of energy and development.
- Undertake stakeholder engagement with critical role players in the energy supply value chain on the developmental aspects of the Programme and overall work of the Office
- Partner with research, policy and International Development Cooperating Partners, as well as other sector representatives, Government Departments, organs of state, NGOs, corporations and other developmental institutions to facilitate research, collaboration, identification of best practice and replication of the developmental aspects of the Programme, with a view to combat poverty and promote inclusive growth in the country.
- Develop and manage knowledge around Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) and the gender dimensions of the Programme.
- Make contributions to the design, monitoring and improvement of the B-BBEE Score Card of the Programme in each bid iteration or Bid Window, while incorporating feedback from key stakeholders on experiences in previous rounds.
- Oversee transaction advisors who undertake bid evaluations specifically on Economic Development.

**Requirements**:

- Post-graduate degree in energy and development, sustainable development, development economics or related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in at least one social and human development sector (e.g. education, social protection/poverty alleviation, health, etc.) with an emphasis on experience in development work at the national public, NGO sector or regional/international level.

Pay: R100 000,00 - R130 000,00 per month
