As a Junior Compliance Officer, you will ensure that our company operates by applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will assist the Compliance Officer in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective compliance programs and policies. Your responsibilities will include monitoring activities, identifying potential compliance risks, conducting audits, and providing guidance to employees to promote ethical behaviour and adherence to regulatory requirements.

**Principal responsibilities**:
Conduct Onsite HSE Audits & Inspections:

- Plan and execute regular onsite Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) audits and inspections.
- Identify potential HSE risks, hazards, and non-compliance issues within company operations, processes, and facilities.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop corrective action plans and ensure timely implementation of necessary measures.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and areas for improvement.
- Track and monitor the progress of corrective actions to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and standards.

Assist with HSE Monitoring & Reporting:

- Support the implementation of HSE monitoring systems, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in developing and maintaining HSE metrics to assess performance and compliance levels.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of HSE incidents, near misses, and other relevant data.
- Assist in preparing HSE reports for management, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on HSE regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

Assist with Technical Legal Applications & Registrations:

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations about the solar industry, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to gather necessary documentation and information.
- Stay informed about changes in legal requirements and update internal procedures accordingly.

Conduct Technical Partner Vetting:

- Participate in evaluating and selecting technical partners, suppliers, and contractors to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement a vetting process to assess potential partners' technical capabilities, HSE practices, and compliance history.
- Conduct due diligence checks, including reviewing certifications, licenses, and past performance records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment during vetting.
- Provide recommendations and reports on potential partners' compliance and technical suitability.

Assist with Insurance Documentation & Reporting:

- Support the management of insurance-related documentation, including policies, certificates, and claims.
- Collaborate with insurance brokers and underwriters to ensure adequate coverage for company operations.
- Assist in preparing insurance reports, claims, and renewals, ensuring compliance with policy terms and conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance documents, claims, and correspondence.
- Provide support during insurance audits and reviews.
- Any other job duties associated with this role.

**PERSON DESCRIPTION**

**Experience**:
**Specific attributes**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, law, or finance.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards related to solar energy or renewable energy companies is preferred.
- Strong understanding of compliance principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in using productivity software and other relevant tools

**Desirable attributes**:

- Previous experience in the solar industry in a similar role.

Familiarity with solar industry HSE regulations and processes.

Conducted onsite HSE audits and inspections, addressing non-compliance issues.

Assisted in preparing HSE reports and metrics.

**By Month 6**:
Complete understanding of HSE regulations and internal SAE policies.

Independently conduct audits and inspections, driving improvement.

Establish effective partnerships through comprehensive vetting.

Assisted in managing insurance documentation and claims.

**By Month 12**:
Successfully fulfilling my roles and responsibilities.

Contributed to long-term compliance strategies aligned with objectives.
