Security Architect required in Cape Town area - Hybrid, to own, analyse, architect, design and implement Platforms, Services and Systems regarding all IT and Cyber security aspects and security solutions in support of the organization. Cloud Architect and Security Certification; CISSP; AWS Security Speciality; AWS Architect Associate. 4+ years' experience in IT Security related Architecture or Design, designing, deploying and supporting Active Directory deployments and its supporting technologies in a medium to large sized organization, and Infrastructure Architecture or Design. Experience delivering systems on Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)

**Responsibilities**:

- To own, analyse, architect, design and implement Platforms, Services and Systems regarding all IT and Cyber security aspects and security solutions in support of the Capitec organization.
- Liaise with various vendors and service providers.
- Operate within industry trends with regards to IT, Cyber and Cloud Security.
- Operate within the following internal policies:

- Information Management Policy
- Information Security Policy
- IT Governance Policy
- Adhere to business continuity principles as required by business.
- Adhere to internal Systems Design Quality Standards.
- Liaise with various internal departments.

Architect Cyber Security solutions and any supporting infrastructure in alignment with organizational goals and constraints
- Design and implementation where strategic and appropriate.
- Define strategic goals and tactical plans for Cyber Security solutions and systems.
- Perform Architect peer reviews.
- Consult on Cyber Security solutions architecture and Infrastructure Architecture.
- Conduct research and development (R&D).
- Document security architecture and systems.
- Document security architecture engagement prerequisites (initial and complete).
- Compile security architecture policies.
- Compile security architecture standards and best practices.
- Take ownership of the security solution SDLC (management of the delivery as it relates to the security infrastructure and solution)

Design validation of Cyber Security solutions and any supporting infrastructure
- Mentor team members.
- Compile and maintain design review and sign off checklists.
- Review and sign off designs.

Architectural support of Cyber Security solutions and supporting infrastructure
- Provide architectural support.
- Participate in root-cause analysis reviews when applicable.
- Participate in Architecture panels and COP.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 National Certificate
- A relevant 3-year degree / diploma in IT is ideal
- Cloud Architect and Security Certification
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional
- AWS Security Speciality
- AWS Architect Associate
- 4+ years' experience in IT Security related Architecture or Design
- 4+ years' experience designing, deploying and supporting Active Directory deployments and its supporting technologies in a medium to large sized organization
- 4+ years' experience in Infrastructure Architecture or Design
- Proven experience integrating security solutions and practices in a Windows environment
- Experience delivering systems on at least one of the following: Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Strong design and hands on troubleshooting background on at least one of the following Public Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Experience with authentication and authorization technologies and protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, AD, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML)
- Advanced scripting skills in at least one interpreted language (Bash/PowerShell)
- Experience working in a DevOps environment
- Experience in supporting and enhancing build and release processes through automation using a combination of processes and existing tools
- 7+ years’ experience in Microsoft Server Operating Systems is ideal
- Proven experience in designing and deploying Windows Server security and configuration using Group Policy is ideal
- 7+ years’ experience in ITIL concepts and policies is ideal
- 5+ years’ experience in Microsoft Security technologies is ideal
- 4+ years’ experience in expert performance monitoring/analysis and capacity planning is ideal

Expert knowledge of:

- IT and Cyber Infrastructure architecture
- Architecting and designing IDP and related technologies
- Security Principles, Cyber Security procedures and Best Practices
- Understanding of Cloud Security technologies and best practices
- Understanding of Networking in cloud environments
- Project Management principles and processes
- Application design principles
- Ethical hacking and penetration testing

A sound understanding of:

- Data Centre/Cloud Infrastructure architecture
- Data Centre/Cloud Infrastructure performance and capacity analysis
- IT systems development processes (SDLC lifecycle)
- Business compliance requirements
- Business continuity planning
- IT Operations

Ideal:

- SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and/
