ALX and The Room are two brands of the African Leadership Group. **ALX **is our training arm, focused on developing skills for the fourth industrial revolution (software engineering, data science, UX design, cyber security, etc.) to ensure that Africa is able to compete effectively as the world undergoes a digital transformation. **The Room** is our talent placement arm, a community that our young talent join to access global work opportunities. **ABOUT THE TALENT READINESS TEAM**

The Talent Readiness Team oversees a number of different programs, such as a Software Engineering training in partnership with Holberton School, as well as Data Analyst, Cloud Developer, and Cloud DevOps Engineer learning tracks in partnership with Udacity. Additionally, we also offer learning programs for Virtual Assistants (VA) and Financial Analysts (FA).

Our VA and FA programs are 8-week long fully digital learning experiences that prepare young leaders with soft and practical skills needed to thrive as Virtual Assistants and Financial Analysts. They include an embedded "job-readiness" training component, that is designed to improve the learners' ability to land the job they want by packaging their skills in a professional way on paper, online, and in-person.

As a Career Expert you will be focused on helping learners be job ready providing guidance on areas such as crafting their CVs, preparing for interviews, and answering their career-related questions. You will be working with a talented team of smart creatives, that have a bias to action, learn by doing, are brave, bold and humble. This is a chance to be part of a team cracking a code that can fundamentally transform the future of Africa - **two million entry-level jobs by 2030.**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Career Expert role is a dynamic one that will challenge you to exercise a broad set of skills on a daily basis. On one day you might find yourself leading one on one conversations with a participant, providing continuous support and guidance, channeling your inner coach to improve their self-awareness and suggesting areas for development. While on the next day you will need to show up as a forward thinker and innovator who can easily curate and create relevant events and resources that would benefit them.

You will be an internal and external community builder; You will be at the forefront of many organisational interdependencies and will work closely with other internal teams to maintain streamlined communication lines and processes. You will also actively drive participant interactions to help build a strong community by facilitating a dialogue so that their mutual benefit guides them towards fulfilling their respective objectives.
