**Role Purpose**:
The Managing Executive: Radio Access Network Engineering is based within **Technology.**

Role purpose: The ME of Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineering contributes to the RAN strategy with accountability for planning, design, and optimising the network, enhancing network performance and quality, and driving effectiveness and efficiency through harmonisation and standardisation.
The ME of RAN Engineering leads and manages a team of RAN Development and Engineering professionals who deliver Network Engineering activities in response to business needs and in alignment with the Vodafone Strategy.
Typically reports to the Technology Director/Chief Technical Officer

**Your responsibilities will include**:
Accountable for developing and implementing strategic RAN transformation decisions, related to the planning, deployment and optimization of Networks and service enablers to achieve the Network strategy;
Accountable for developing and implementing strategic end-to-end performance and quality transformation decisions, related to the development of key programs to drive visible network performance and customer experience uplift with clear implementable plans to achieve the Network Strategy;
Defines principles, standards and designs for the development and assessment of RAN Network systems / services and optimisation;
Leads and manages a team of RAN Engineering professionals, sets direction for the Network and aligns Network Developments team/s to ensure long term Network quality, effectiveness, competitiveness and reliability;
Ensures the delivery of projects, within the roadmap, taking into account the directional guidance of the strategic (1 -3 year) plan, managing risks, escalations and exceptions, and complex interfaces;
Works with senior leaders of other Network functions and other key stakeholders to ensure development is undertaken in line with the overall strategy and architecture and is fit for deployment;
Possesses a broad and comprehensive understanding of theories and practices across the Network landscape, instigating and leading projects from a RAN perspective that improve Network integration effectiveness;
Uses evaluative judgement to resolve complex or novel design, planning, deployment and optimization challenges across the RAN Engineering area;
Builds solid relations and works closely with suppliers, technology vendors and internal functions;Lead the development, implementation and management of cross company governance models for RAN engineering, network optimisation and end-to-end performance and quality;
Leads and develops a team through clear objective and target setting for performance and career development;
Full accountability for Opex and Capex budgets and delivery against targets.Deliver against Network improvement targets and Network availability targets
**Experience**:
At least 10 year experience in the RAN Engineering environment of which 8 in a leadership position in a Telco environment
Experience in managing Opex and Capex budget
Proven track record of delivery against NED targets
**Qualification**:
B Eng or other relevant 4 year IT/ Engineering degree
