Materials Controller

Large manufacturing company based in Kliprivier seeks a Materials Clerk (Temporary Position; 3 month assignment)

**Education & Experience**
- National Diploma in Inventory/Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply chain / Logistics
- Experience on SAP System

**Duties**
- Manage stock and all administration regarding stock
- Ensure that stock is received in a good condition
- Comply with Health and Safety procedures
- Report on damaged stock
- Ordering of stock
- Procurement
- Filing of delivery notes, invoices, receipts and supporting documents
- Daily stock counts, recons and balancing of raw material storage location
- Report on stock variances
- Demonstrates understanding of internal and external customer needs, expectations and delivers
- Develop methods and strategies to monitor packaging stock levels against production and sales demand
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community legislation.
- Complies with workplace policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Report and Capture incidents to the Materials Coordinator
- Participate in ISO, SABS systems and process audits and assist in closing out findings
- Ensure that all reported Forklift faults are captured and resolved
- Maintain good housekeeping in conjunction with materials coordinator in areas of responsibility at all times.
- Report all damages to product and property immediately.
- Report any unsafe acts and environmental contamination immediately.
- Ensure accurate management and on time ordering of stock to make raw materials available for Packing
- Ensure requisition for packaging material is generated on time as per production schedule
- Ensure that packaging materials delivered have adequate warehouse space and are packed/stacked within Housekeeping and Safety standards
- Liaise with Stores to ensure that all receipts and issues are done correctly on SAP
- Supervise offloading to ensure that material description and quantities on invoices correspond with the actual delivered items
- Liaise with Procurement, Stores, and/or suppliers to resolve order generated queries and incorrect deliveries
- Gives input into projected materials’ budget required by the Materials Coordinator and Procurement
- Planning and participation in all mid-month and monthly stock counts
- Participate in implementing inventory control procedures
- Maintain daily counts, reconciliation and balancing of raw material storage location.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of product traceability.
- Ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly routine tasks are carried out as per the directive from the Materials Coordinator.
- Analyse stock take variances and arrange recounts if necessary
- Compile report on stock variances and corrective action taken
- Communicate reasons for stock take variances to the Materials Coordinator and Production Scheduler
- Ensure reports are correctly updated on a daily basis and distributed to the relevant departments
- Develop an efficient filing system for all delivery notes, invoices, receipts, and supporting delivery documentation
- Liaise with the Finance department and storage company for collection of filed boxes
