Code4Kids is an EdTech company based in South Africa, with a growing international client-base.

Code4Kids is a program used by schools as a way to teach coding, robotics and IT to grades 4-9. The program is sold to schools, teachers are trained, and lessons are taught in class. We’ve had success in South Africa (with more than 100,000 students using the program at their schools) and we are currently looking to continue to drive growth both locally in South Africa and internationally in Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Our team, though small in size (~10), is diverse and passionate about revolutionizing the education industry. With our global remote work policy, we promote flexibility and prioritize a healthy work-life balance for our employees. We work closely with the Lessonspace team, part of the same EdTech group.

We are currently seeking an experienced Head of Curriculum to join our team and lead the Code4Kids curriculum development.

**Requirements**:
**An ideal applicant;**
- Is based in South Africa, or a South African working remotely (i.e. Thailand, This is a South African salary)
- Ideally been in a mid-level role who is looking to step up into a senior position. This is important as we are looking first and foremost for someone who is a hard working “doer” - you will be doing everything when it comes to the curriculum development; engaging with customers to understand their needs; coordinating with the team; developing strategies; budgeting; executive reporting; setting up measurements and creating content from lessons to video to assessments.

- Has ideally had 3+ years experience in the education industry, from a curriculum development, pedagogy or similar perspective.
- You don’t need to be an expert in our specific curriculum, but you will need to be able to quickly familiarize yourself, lead a team and be the guard of quality.
- You will need to be able to get your hands dirty, create curriculum resources from lessons, teacher resources to videos as needed.
- You will need to show experience in the project management side of curriculum development.

- Has 3+ years experience in an operational leadership role or project management role.
- Need to be comfortable in a sales, support, project management or product manager role. Able to speak with customers, understand the sales teams needs, understand the success team and have insight into product limitations and opportunities. Knowledge of the schools market and school buying habits is a big plus.
- A people person who would consider themselves good at ‘putting themselves out there’ and can help consult with schools and teachers to ensure
- A confident self-starter, comfortable generating leads, building relationships, delivering presentations and closing deals.
- Comfortable working at home and proven “Intrepreneur”. Has the ability to identify and hire future team members.

- Set up reporting and analysis to help inform the team on the success of the curriculum.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven 3+ years of experience in the education industry, from a curriculum development, pedagogy or similar perspective.
- Proven 3+ years experience in an operational leadership role or project management role.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver a high quality curriculum.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow project management best practices.
- Ability to assess and use innovative third party tools to support your work effectiveness.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
