Our upmarket winelands **WEDDING VENUE** is situated on an exclusive 33-hectare grape farm between Wellington and Paarl. We are currently looking for an experienced, well groomed and energetic individual to join our small, hands-on team and get involved in all aspects of the Venue. The intermediate level position offers a growth opportunity to a driven, hardworking, and ambitious individual with relevant experience.

- Salary - market/ experience related.
- Probation period of 3 months.
- Work Schedule - we are at our busiest during weekends, after hours, public holidays and school holidays - only those agreeable to working these hours and happy to work long and irregular hours need apply.
- Starting Date 1 September 2023.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- Own vehicle with a current valid driver’s licence.
- Stable track record with contactable references.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
- Must already live in the greater Wellington/Paarl area.
- Good all-rounder and keen to get involved in all aspects of the business.
- Must be able to multitask with good organisational and planning skills, with ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills and fluent in Afrikaans.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE**
- Previous work experience - minimum two year full time venue management, guest house / lodge environment.
- Qualification in the hospitality industry a bonus.
- General office administration experience.

**TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**
- **
Venue Sales & Marketing**
- Assist owner/manager to
- source and select vendors
- compile a selection of wedding packages - some all-inclusive
- compile sales and marketing material
- promote these packages via different platforms.
- Handle wedding and function enquiries, interact with prospective clients and manage calendar.
- Responsible for wedding viewings and site inspections - **mostly over weekends and after business hours.**:

- Manage sales process, negotiate individual packages, close the deal and handle documentation and payments.
- Manage and update Instagram, Facebook and listing sites.
- Liaise with external website company to update the website.
- **
Wedding and Event Coordination**
- Guide international and national clients through the wedding planning process.
- Liaise with clients and vendors to put together individual weddings.
- Finalise logístical details of the wedding/function and compile Function Sheet.
- Manage set up and breakdown and oversee those services provided by vendors.
- On the day coordination -** mostly over weekends and after business hours. **Execute the Function Sheet and manage the order of events.
- On the day venue hostess - **mostly over weekends and after business hours. **Manage venue infrastructure during function i.e. open and close, crises management, water and electricity supply management, oversee services provided by staffing company, oversee services provided by external service providers.
- Manage cleaning team before and after wedding/function.
- **
Office Administration/ General**
- Issue invoices and manage payments.
- Filing.
- Data capturing and financial reconciliations on Excel.
- Assisting with office and infrastructure i.e. internet, phones, water supply.
- Running errands.
- **
Operational**
- Manage cleaning staff and gardening staff to ensure the venue is in immaculate condition.
- Compile snag list and oversee repairs and upgrades.
- Manage inventory, stocktaking, stock control and purchasing of items, amenities, cleaning products.
