Highly proficient in Excel/PowerPoint for data management and reporting.

**Job-related Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 to 5 years relevant safety management experience in manufacturing, construction, automotive and warehouse environment is essential.
- Good listening-, interpersonal-, presentation
- and report-writing skills required.
- Must be detail conscious, with adequate problem-solving, critical thinking skills and time-management skills.
- Experience in managing multiple operations concurrently.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative.
- Strong people management skills to manage diverse teams.
- Tact, a sense of urgency, and an overall customer satisfaction focus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work extended hours during the week and weekends, when required.
- Site has a 3-shift pattern and may be required to come to site for serious incidents.
- Strong ability to interface with plant hourly personnel, salaried personnel, plant management, staff operations, logistic carriers, and production suppliers
- Travel when required. Own vehicle & valid license.
- Ability to work under pressure & adapt to change.

**ADDED ADVANTAGES FOR THIS ROLE**:

- Excellent knowledge of applicable legislation i.e., Occupational Health and Safety Act and Department of Labour industry processes and standards.
- Sound knowledge of safety systems, auditing, and investigation techniques.
- Strong computer skills and expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and Access.
- Operational experience and the ability to work independently.
- Extensive, In-depth Knowledge of Safety compliance.
- Strong analytical skills and quick decision-making capability

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**:
Position oversees making sure that employees follow health and safety regulations to promote the wellbeing of their team. Their duties include using safety research to create policies that eliminate workplace hazards, documenting accidents in the workplace and investigating the circumstances of an illness or injury. The position also aims to ensure contract adherence in terms of client relations, operational performance, commercial and financial performance and development and continual improvement initiatives.
The role needs to ensure operations are managed in accordance with the DSV standards and policies and procedures. Ensure that the DSV strategy, goals and initiatives are cascaded down through the organization into the various areas of the operation.
Support and actively participate in development services and solutions to complement DSV’s offering to the Automotive industry.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Implement, administer, and maintain the company’s safety management systems.
- Ensure legal compliance is adhered to by conducting audits and surveys.
- Participate in incident and accident safety investigations.
- Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment
- Facilitate risk assessments for all operational areas.
- Drafting and updating risk assessments, SWP and Single Point Lessons.
- Develop and facilitate safety training programs on policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Benchmark best practice and liaise with external stakeholders.
- Advise management, employees, and contractors on all SHE related matters.
- Ensure accurate report writing, keep accurate records and provide interpretation of statistical information.
- Align the safety management system to business objectives.
- Attend daily, weekly, and monthly internal and customer meetings and provide detailed operational feedback.
- Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant safety regulations.
- Support line side station readiness process with respective production areas on QSHE compliance.
- Coordinate the development of a lean plant layout that achieves Ford Production Systems requirements with the operations area leaders.
- Ensure material handling guidelines and regulations followed.
- Review and evaluate future for expansion and/or modification of the plant’s Material Planning & Logistics equipment, resources, and/or future facilities to determine the effect on operations.
- Assure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Maintenance, Environment objectives and operating systems implementation and adherence.
