**Position**:Cleaner

**Location**: Bolt Warehouse, Cape Town

A great opportunity has come up for a Cleaner looking for experience in an exciting and fast-paced environment.

**Purpose and Objectives**

To be responsible for a variety of cleaning (Housekeeping) throughout the Warehouse /DC, as well as providing assistance to the warehouse departments

**Key Performance Areas**
- To be based on agreed KPA’s

**Key Job Functions**
- Emptying waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points.
- Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops.
- Mopping floors with wet or damp mops.
- Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets.
- Using electrically powered scrubbing, scrub, polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and training).
- To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required within the contract.
- To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking fountains.
- The use of chemical agents as directed by the Supervising Officer in the discharge of cleaning operations or maintenance procedures, after receiving proper instructions and training.
- To undertake wall washing or inside window pane cleaning to a height no greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level.
- Adhering to the company health and safety practices including the general company rules, regulations and procedures of the company.

**Knowledge and Experience Required**
- Good knowledge of warehouse functions.
- Working Experience as a cleaner for 2 to 3 years
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Integrity
- Housekeeping

- Must have clear and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must have effective interpersonal skills.
- Must have effective time management and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Team orientated, flexible, and able to work with little to no supervision.
- Attention to detail.
- Willing and able to work overtime as required / authorized by management.
- Able to get to and from work without the assistance of company transport.
- Able to perform physical duties, e.g. lifting heavy boxes and working in all types of weather.
