About The Role:
As a computer recycling technician, you will play a crucial role in our mission to responsibly dispose of electronic waste while maximizing the recovery of valuable resources. This position is responsible for the diagnosis and repair of electronic devices such as tablets, laptops, desktops, printers and various other electronic items and the listing of equipment on e-commerce websites. We are a relatively small company and apart from the computer recycling responsibilities, you will also be expected to get involved in other facets of the business - document shredding & records management.

Essential Duties:
Computer Recycling
- Data sanitization: You will securely erase all data from hard drives and other storage devices using industry-standard software.
- Testing and refurbishment: You will test functional equipment for potential resale or donation, extending its lifespan and reducing waste. Diagnosis and repair of electronic devices such as tablets, laptops, desktops, and various other electronic items.
- Disassembly and sorting: You will carefully disassemble computers, separating valuable components like metals, plastics, and precious metals for recycling.
- Overseeing the efficient and responsible management of electronic waste (e-waste) at our facility.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows for receiving, sorting, dismantling, and processing e-waste.
- Ensure proper segregation and handling of hazardous materials within e-waste.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all e-waste processing activities.
- Load products on ecommerce websites - take high quality photos, with full descriptions.
- Organise the timely dispatch of items sold.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with e-waste vendors and recycling partners.
- Maintenance and upkeep: You will keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and adherence to safety regulations.

Apart from these computer recycling duties, you will also be involved in shredding services
- On-Site Shredding - Make sure the tuck is loaded with all the necessary equipment for on-site shredding. Do on-site shredding at the clients premises. Make sure safety procedures are followed to the letter.
- Off-Site Shredding - Collect confidential documents from clients. Make sure correct procedures are followed
- Deliver shredded paper to recycling plant
- Daily route planning
- Assist walk-in visitors in destroying any documents they bring in.
- Keep documents secure and confidential.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Must have a strong & thorough knowledge of computers, both computer hardware and software.
- Must have work experience for diagnosing problems and troubleshooting.
- Experience in the eWaste industry will be an advantage.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal a must for the ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Ability to be organized, proficient, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently.
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions as directed.
- Must be a South African citizen or legally authorized to work in South Africa
- Valid drivers licence.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Person has to be physically strong and healthy as they will be required to assist with lifting heavy bins. Must be able to lift 40 kgs without assistance.

**Salary**: R11 000,00 per month
