Temple Custodian

The Special Project Department provides an environment where temple patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience by maintaining temples at standards established by the First Presidency. This position helps provide and maintain facilities that give Church members places where they can work, worship, teach, learn, pray together, make and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances.
- Clean all assigned areas to set standards and required to work in confined spaces.
- Remove and replace draperies, chandeliers, or lights, etc. and assist in setting up meeting rooms as requested (May be required to work at heights).
- Maintain updated information on Safety Data Sheet of all cleaning chemicals.
- Complete minor maintenance functions on cleaning equipment.
- Maintain good customer service, and public relations.
- Work with cleaning agents and chemicals with the use of rubber gloves, masks, and/or other safety equipment.
- May also be required to use hand tools or motorized tools such as a vacuum and buffer.
- Must be in possession of a Temple Recommend and be worthy to possess it.
- Must be an endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
- Must have a high school qualification / Matric/ or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years’ related experience required.
- Requires understanding of custodial procedures, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to operate assigned equipment such as: buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums, etc.
- Ability to work shifts.
- Possession of a current health and safety certificate is an added advantage.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form.
