Chemist

A Leading Chemical Operations Plant is looking for an experienced Chemist in the Chemical, Lubricants and Fuel Industry.

Purpose

**Responsibilities**:
1. Using a range of software, techniques, and equipment to carry out research and analysis.
2. Analysing and interpreting research data
3. Making sure that data is accurately recorded in accordance with guidelines.
4. Reporting and presenting results to Management
5. Writing research reports, reviews, and summaries
6. Keeping up to date with scientific and technical developments
7. Ensuring that health and safety standards are adhered to.
8. Preparing product license documentation
9. Liaising with customers, suppliers, and research/scientific staff
10. Developing new analytical methods
11. Writing progress reports
12. Overall accountability for Lab and associated staff and equipment
13. Management of Respective Product data analysis of fuels, industrial and commercial chemicals as well as lubricants
14. Ensuring that License documentation for Products are conducted and prepared
15. Preparation of Budgets and Procurement documents for the Lab
16. Maintain ISO standards and systems for the Lab
17. Ensuring that the equipment used within the Lab and during processes are calibrated and meet the required standards.
18. Responsible for Ensuring that non-conformances are completed and investigations are done thoroughly.

1. Analyze chemical compounds or substances.

2. Maintain laboratory or technical equipment.
3. Evaluate quality of materials or products.
4. Prepare compounds or solutions for products or testing.
5. Set up laboratory or field equipment.
6. Interpret research or operational data.
7. Train personnel in technical or scientific procedures.
8. Prepare scientific or technical reports for presentations.
9. Manage scientific or technical project resources.
10. Operate laboratory or field equipment.
11. Supervise scientific or technical personnel.
12. Develop new or advanced products or production methods.
13. Write progress and management reports.
14. Supervise Junior staff including lab assistants and interns.
15. Perform other duties as directed by Management

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R40,000.00 per month
