**Qualifications and experience**:

- A relevant M Eng/M Sc Civil Engineering degree
- A min of 10 years applicable professional experience in water and wastewater treatment.-
**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the implementation of company strategy, policies and values within the business unit
- Formulate business unit strategy and obtain approval.
- Ensure the approved strategy, plans and budgets are communicated and implemented.
- Conduct and commission relevant research, attends conferences and presentations, scrutinises tender notices.
- Liaise with EXCO/OPCO by reporting on business unit progress.
- Develop and implement stakeholder management and marketing strategies in accordance with corporate marketing policies.
- Plan and oversee new business growth and build pipeline of work in RSA and the rest of Africa, (public and private infrastructure driven; and involving strategic partners as appropriate).
- Partner with multi-national infrastructure development companies; and follow major clients into the rest of Africa.
- Oversee complex/critical project designs and solutions, providing advice and guidance.
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. National, Provincial and Local authorities, external strategic partners (e.g. Infrastructure development planners).
- Ensure growth of existing and new/integrated offerings, optimisation of project resources and expenditure.
- Obtain and allocate resources to facilitate achievement of business unit objectives and goals.
- Manage performance against agreed targets/goals.
- Initiate, lead and oversee actions to correct weaknesses and build on strengths. Ensure any project related conflict of interest is declared.
- Ensure that skills training and career development are provided in line with agreed human capital policies, the Workplace Skills Plan and the organisation’s objectives.
- Conduct performance discussions with direct reports and other staff members. Manage expenditures against budgets.
- Manage working capital, monitor debtors days, work in progress and ensure adherence to agreed limits.
- Encourage and recognise cost containment initiatives and on time project delivery within budget.
- Provide accurate and timely management, financial and project information.
- Keep abreast of material external factors affecting the business unit and ensure that relevant reports are submitted to senior management.
- Responsible for business development within and across business units
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to present to large groups and executive-level audiences.**Requirements**:
