**Personnel Management**
- Personnel development
- Continuously measurement of skills and report shortcomings.

- Effectively coordinate workload distribution and schedules
- Effective leave planning according to workload requirements and operational responsibilities
- Effectively maintain discipline according to company policies and procedures
- Promote good labor relations and effectively deal with conflict
- Maintain safety standards and effectively deal with casualties and injuries according to company policies and procedures
- Maintain service standards
- Supervise staff according to company procedures and policies
- Ensure company working hours are strictly adhered to.
**Sample Receiving**
- Accurate identification and labeling of samples.
- Inspect samples for any sign of deterioration and report any samples not received, broken or damaged immediately using the appropriate forms.
- Ensure that written proof of delivery is obtained at all times and that the information on the proof of delivery or waybill corresponds with the actual total samples or boxes received. If not, report immediately to line management before signing the waybill or delivery note
- Recordkeeping of sample information according to prescribed procedures.
**Preparation of Soil Samples**
- Plan activities according to the sample quantities received for preparation.
- Performing routine soil sample preparation according to standard methods, procedures and the use of applicable forms.
- Adhere to sample turn-around timeframes communicated.
- Perform routine determination of percentage stone on indicated samples and report raw data on the applicable forms.
- Preparation of quality control samples according to standard methods and procedures.
- Operate equipment according to specified procedures.
- Adhere to all relevant safety procedures and protocols.
- Awareness of the dangers of chemicals used through the study of MSDS
- Adhere to competency training program.
- Keep workplace and equipment neat and tidy.
- Monitor and control stock levels of required chemicals and consumables.
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager and assist in sections if so communicated, doing task and analysis you have been declared competent for.
**Storage and Disposal of Soil Samples**
- Safe, secure, and orderly storage of soil samples and relevant sample documentation in designated areas.
- Maintenance of storage areas ensuring cleanliness and ease of retrieval of samples.
- Timely disposal of samples into empty disposal bags and store until collection by Disposal Company.
**Quality System**
- Maintain Health and Safety standards in designated areas.
- Report deviations and communicate instructions to improve and maintain the quality system.
**Managerial Duties**
- Supervise Laboratory Assistants/soil sievers in the Sample Receiving area.
- Support operations and contribute to a positive moral in section.
**Qualifications** Education**
- Grade 12

- Appropriate laboratory experience.
