Manage warehouse in compliance with company policies and procedures and oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance of operations.
- Responsible for inventory management, resource management and cost controls.
- Prepare departmental budget as well as task assignments and work plans.
- Ensure all warehousing and related transportation operations are compliant with legislation.
- Manage suppliers and service providers to ensure legislative compliance and uninterrupted operations.
- Manage inter-departmental document and communication flows and processes.
- Responsible for internal and external departmental audits as well as corrective actions for findings.
- Ensure all SHEQ standards and procedures are maintained as well as reporting and investigation of near misses and incidents.
- Coordinate monthly stock takes, investigate variances, and finalize stock counts for approval by Central Warehousing & Distribution Manager and limits of authority.
- Maintain stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
- Management of human resources including training, developing, motivating and disciplining if necessary.
- Ensure continuous improvement in terms of safety, cost, storage, and transportation.
- Attend relevant sales and operations meetings to understand business requirements (Production, Procurement, Laboratory, Customer Services etc.) and communicate with team.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment, including moving machinery, is maintained in a safe and good working order and compliant to all statutory requirements.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Matric / Grade 12.
- Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or Warehousing Management or NQF equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience (at least 3 of which at managerial level).
- Experience in a Chemical environment and exposure to handling hazardous chemicals will be advantageous.
- In depth understanding of warehouse operations (including MHE’s), transportation, safety requirements and resource management.
- Computer literate with MS Office proficiency.
- SAP knowledge advantageous.
