As part of our organization’s strategic growth plan, PIC is setting up a Program and Engineering Support Office to be located in Pretoria, South Africa. Since this Satellite Office will form a key element in the service solutions PIC offers its customers, it is detrimental that we employ individuals who bring specific skill sets to join this new team.

We are seeking for select **Technical Writers** to Develop and maintain Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Component Maintenance Manuals, Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other various ATA compliant documents used in commercial aviation maintenance. Develop and maintain Work/Task Cards in accordance with customer format requirements. Other duties/programs may be included as required.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, test reports, and vendor data for inclusion in technical manuals.
- Incorporate Engineering redlines into existing documents;
- Edit manuals authored by others for format and technical content as related to Service Bulletin and drawing data;
- Work closely with the engineering department to understand program activities that will affect maintenance documentation;
- Remain current on new developments in technical writing, editing, and publishing including technological enhancements which may affect the technical publications;
- Optimize order of operations and assembly sequence to maximize build efficiency and reduce the probability of technician error;

**Required Skills/Expertise**:

- Minimum 5 years of Aerospace Industry experience;
- Technical Writing/Task Card experience;
- Capacity to read and understand technical drawings and schematics;
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and 2D/3D graphic image and editing software;
- Familiarity with XML editing;
- Efficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook);
- Ability to interpret and transform engineering data into concise, user-friendly maintenance instructions;
- Possess a high-level understanding of ATA requirements for technical publications and how ATA compliant publications are used in the commercial aviation industry;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
- Ability to schedule resources according to established priority systems;
- Ability to multitask while remaining flexible to changing requirements and deadlines;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Additional Experience**:

- High level of computer skills;
- Computer operating system experience;
- Computer Networking experience.

**Education/Experience**:

- A&P, Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree;
- Minimum of 5 years in planning or technical writing within the Aviation industry;
- Supervisory experience is a plus;
- CAD experience is a plus.
