**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Processing of interbank transfers and cashbook transactions
- Reconciling point-of-sale income to bank account receipts and CIT reports per branch
- Regular follow up and reporting on any outstanding receipts per branch
- Processing of relevant journals and reconciling of bank and control accounts
- Resolving any store banking related queries
- Processing of debit orders bank charges and interbank transfers.
- Filing and general administration

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
- Reconciling POS sales to receipts declared and investigation of any variances timeously (variance between theoretical and actual cash up)
- Reporting variances due to cashier negligence to HR on a weekly basis.
- Assist stores with any cash desk related queries and other cash related queries they might have.
- Reconciling receipts (cash and card) declared to bank deposits and investigation of any variances timeously.
- Escalating any deposits outstanding for more than 3 days to the head of the cash department or external parties were deemed necessary.
- Performing bank account reconciliations on SAGE X3 ERP system.
- Preparing all cashbook journals timeously and accurately at each month end for review for processing into SAGE
- Any other adhoc finance related task as requested and deemed necessary.
**Education**
- Grade 12 along with a tertiary financial qualification would be advantageous.
- Minimum 1-2-years clerk experience, desirably in a retail environment
- Experience with Sage X3 ERP would be advantageous.
- Sound Excel skills.
