**Main purpose of position**
Currently we are looking for a Project Finance Analyst in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision - Improving our future. The Project Finance Analyst will take responsibility for the financial evaluation of renewable energy projects. Your core responsibilities will be the financial evaluation, financial analysis and risk assessment of new projects and opportunities during all phases of project development i.e., from inception to financial close. While there may be opportunities to work on projects around the globe, this role is focused on projects in the Sub-Saharan African region. We believe you will bring excellent modelling and valuation skills including risk management as well as experience from energy markets.

**Main responsibilities**
- Financial Modelling of renewable energy projects and opportunities incl debt and equity structures
- Financial evaluation of renewable energy projects and opportunities, including but not limited to the analysis and evaluation of project risk and return
- Financial valuations of new and existing renewable energy projects, including single projects as well as M&A opportunities
- Assist in the preparation of project finance input to presentations during all project phases
- Support senior management decision making
- Obtain project inputs from all stakeholders and ensure appropriate capturing in valuation in the financial model and supporting input sheets
- Conduct research for respective financial, tax and legal aspects
- Participate in project finance processes and support lenders due diligence processes

**Qualifications and competencies**
- Bachelor/Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar university level education
- Excellent knowledge in MS Excel, MSWord, PowerPoint
- CFA and/or Chartered Accountancy Advantageous
- 3 + years experience from Project Finance, Investment, M&A or Asset Management
- Advanced understanding of energy markets in Africa
- Excellent financial modelling and valuation methodology skills
- Previous experience in REIPPP tender round is advantageous
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills and ability to analyse complex structures
- High level of integrity
- Intercultural understanding and the ability to work in an international environment is important
