Tax Specialist

**Introduction**

**Role Purpose**

Ensuring all funds administered by the company are Tax compliant. Monitoring regulatory requirements and legal interpretation of Income Tax Act.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum NQF 7 (financial qualification) with a minimum of 2 years related experience
- Deadline driven and dynamic
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Investigate, understand, and seek expert advice if necessary to ensure that any tax related risk or problem which has come to light are addressed.
- Ensure tax related queries that have come to light are dealt with.
- Ensure all tax correspondence and returns are filed timeously and in an orderly manner.
- Tax simulation

**Tax Returns**
- Obtain sign off by the Fund Accounting team and prepare the relevant payment instruction.
- Coordinate the payment there of and ensure proof of payment is obtained on the day the payment is due and filed in an orderly manner.
- Ensure all other tax type returns are submitted, stamped and paid timeously (i.e., Dividend’s tax, Import duty, VAT).
- Prepare payroll annual returns and submit approved returns timeously.

**Withholding Tax**
- Ensure withholding tax payments are calculated in terms of the relevant countries tax legislation.
- Co-ordinate the review of withholding taxes in accordance with the timetable prescribed by the relevant countries tax legislation.
- Ensure return is submitted and stamped and proof of payment is obtained on the day the payment is due.
