MTN is entering a new phase in its lifecycle where operational and commercial excellence has become critical for success. The urgency for change has become more heightened amidst increased competitive intensity across all markets in which MTN operates. The Group’s Technology function must therefore ensure the successful delivery in context of:

- Rapidly changing ICT environment
- The geographic complexity of MTN’s foot print across Africa and the Middle East
- Management of executive and local shareholder expectations across all MTN OpCos
- Achievement of top quartile operating efficiency and effectiveness through scale and common processes
- Driving growth through business intelligence and standardization to maximize business impact
- Initiating sustainable technology change across the infrastructure portfolio to further aid MTN in the achievement of parallel climate sustainability
- Ability to create a technological and emission reduction strategy in line with the company’s business requirements
- Enhancing MTN’s position as a leading connectivity and infrastructure player
- MTN’s strategy to build the largest and most valuable platform business across our regions
- Management of customer and supplier expectations
- Enhance MTN position as a leading network and system provider
- Constant dynamics and local challenges in the economic, regulatory and legal environments

The team will support all MTN markets in the realization of the MTN carbon emission reduction strategy vision and drive all key emission and green technology decisions, ultimately supporting the MTN overall strategic ambition to better monetize our infrastructure base, improve efficiencies and deliver savings in the long-term while promoting environment awareness.

This team will also be responsible in overseeing the OpCo Project Zero budget envelope and will be the operational and technical expertise hub for all related green energy build projects and due diligence, acting at the forefront of initiating sustainable technology change across the infrastructure portfolio to further aid MTN in the achievement of parallel climate sustainability.
