Pet Heaven is South Africa’s leading online pet food and supplies delivery service. We stock a wide range of premium products from top quality local and international brand name suppliers, including pet food, treats and other pet accessories. Our goal is to make pet parenting easy, with the same love, loyalty and humility pet parents receive daily from their pets.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Develop a comprehensive strategy to drive revenue growth across the categories
- Deliver against key performance indicators (sales, margin, listings, availability, stock turn etc.)
- Drive personal development of the Junior buying team
- Manage and develop supplier relationships, negotiate competitive prices, explore promotional opportunities, improve trading terms and manage suppliers according to strict SLAs
- Work closely with the procurement team to manage stock levels, prevent lost sales and source from most profitable suppliers
- Identify gaps and drive innovation by sourcing and prioritizing new brands and suppliers according to this growth plan and in line with market trends and consumer demand
- Develop a promotional programme, source great deals and supplier campaigns
- Elevate site merchandising to improve discoverability and conversion
- Support the operations team to deliver a world-class customer experience - monitor refunds and causes of complaints or lost sales
- Manage stock aging through clearance, returns and range discontinuations

- Ability to manage priorities according to clear prioritization and structured planning
- Ability to build lasting supplier relationships and manage according to SLAs
- Comfortable with change and excellent team player
- Passionate about the industry and the potential of e-commerce
- Understand the key business drivers of online retail
- Entrepreneurial/commercial mindset

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree (Business Science or Commerce degree preferable)
- Minimum 3 years related retail / commerce / e-commerce experience
- Strong commercial acumen
- Proven track record of negotiation skills and strong relationship management
