Excavator Operator

**Minimum Qualification/ Experience**:

- Minimum Grade 9 but Grade 12 will be advantageous.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Be literate and functionally numerate.
- 3-5 years’ experience.
- Pre-employment medical required.
- Must have a valid Operator’s certificate.
- Basic mechanical background would be advantageous.
- Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Operating the Excavator and carrying out all related tasks.
- Reporting general mechanical elementary problems.
- Operate the Excavator in a respectful and safe manner in line with training received.
- Be safety conscious.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Acknowledge that Management may allocate additional tasks when tasks cannot be completed on standard allocated job.
- Keep machine clean, safe and in good working order by completing daily pre-start checklist correctly.
- Assist with the housekeeping around the production area.
- Be able to work under pressure and sometimes extended hours (including overtime and Saturdays).
- Must be able to carry out instructions given by your superior.
- Change and operate special attachments on the equipment.

**Experience**:

- Excavator: 3 years (preferred)

**Location**:

- Philippi, Western Cape (preferred)
