The Team Lead: CSO Respond is primarily in charge of coordinating the efforts of the Incident Management and Engagement team in relation to incident response planning, simulation, and incident handling in relation to key risk scenarios.

The Team Lead needs to be proficient in information security and incident response, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and technical abilities. The Team Lead must be able to operate under pressure and make prompt, deliberate decisions in a setting that is constantly changing

**Job Description**:
This role’s overall responsibilities are divided into the following key areas:
1. Policy and Programme Management: Influencing, understanding, adapting and implementing Security Incident Management standards across all of Absa Group Limited’s operations.

2. Analysis: Leading the analysis methodology and efforts related to:
a. Threat Landscape: Active threat monitoring and analysis of existing and emerging threats to understand the impact that such threats would pose to operations, staff, assets and/or the reputation of Absa Group Limited.

b. Analysis Monitoring of traditional, digital and social media, as well as interfacing with established functions across Absa Group Limited that monitor, compile and collate such information.

c. Near-Miss Analysis: Establish a historic trend of near-misses that could potentially cause major incidents over time.

d. Problem Management: Analysing recurring occurrences to identify the underlying cause, making recommendations for, and overseeing the implementation of corrective action to stop similar incidents from happening again.

3. Design: Leading on the development and implementation of incident and crisis response plans and protocols which should be followed in the event of a potential threat materialising. The development of incident and crisis management plans should be done in line with established policies, standards and frameworks as well as industry accepted practices.

4. Implementation: Directing the implementation of analysis and design processes to handle incident and crisis management in all of its facets across the African business. In addition to managing smaller group-wide incidents where cross-cluster and business unit support may be necessary to manage the incident's broader impacts, the includes managing a central team that is in charge of managing incidents for all domains represented in the Chief Security Office 24/7/365.

5. Validation: Taking the helm in scenario development while working with Crisis Leadership, Crisis Response, and Incident Response teams across the organisation to consistently prepare, present, and analyse crisis simulations and walkthroughs. On occasion, this function may also be required to direct and facilitate Executive decision-making during exercises and/or actual incidents

6. Culture and Awareness: Leading the development and implementation of culture and awareness exercises across all of Absa’s operations (virtual or in-person) to ensure that all stakeholders are familiar with incident and crisis management principles, protocols as well as the processes to be followed by all stakeholders and constituents to the process.

Key accountabilities

1. Incident and Crisis Management Structure (5%)
- Lead awareness discussions with Incident Response Teams (Cybersecurity, Physical Security, CRES, Communications, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Business Units, Technology etc.) to ensure they understand the Security Incident Management Plan and Processes.
- Socialise the Security Incident Management Plan with Business Incident Management (BIM) and Technology Major Incident Management (MIM) teams to ensure handover and collaboration points are defined and understood.
- Conduct awareness for new Incident Management and Engagement Team members.
- Conduct awareness for new Crisis Leadership, Crisis Response and Incident Response team members to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Assist with coordination and logistics activities in the Joint Operations Centre (JOC).

2. Incident and Crisis Management Threat Analysis (20%)
- Lead the annual analysis of key risk scenarios to establish the scope for planning in the respective calendar year.
- Collate and review threat analysis information from other functional areas to understand and articulate the impact that these threats could have on Absa Group Limited.
