Financial Analyst

Our internationally affiliated client based in Randburg is looking for a meticulous Financial Analyst to become part of their dynamic team. The perfect fit will showcase robust analytical abilities, a comprehensive grasp of financial and risk analysis principles, and proficiency in information and data interpretation. This role entails gathering, processing, and scrutinizing both financial and non-financial data to derive valuable insights crucial for evaluating and guiding decisions within the guarantee underwriting and issuance procedures. We seek a curious individual who is deliberate and conscientious while analysing credit risk and uses discernment and diplomacy while dealing with these matters.

**Minimum requirements**:

- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business Studies, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, Credit Analyst, or similar role in finance, banking, insurance or consulting environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate financial, insurance, contractual concepts, and insights to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail - very essential to ensure accurate analysis and risk assessment.
- Ability to make sound Financial Guarantee decisions based on comprehensive financial and nonfinancial quantitative and qualitative data.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, such as marketing, finance, claims, compliance, and risk management.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using financial analysis tools, spreadsheets, Credit scoring models and techniques.
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiative and drive projects to completion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collect, organize, and analyse financial and non-financial data from multiple sources, including databases, spreadsheets, financial reports, internal systems, commercial agreements, and contracts.
- Identify patterns, trends and anomalies in financial and non-financial data and provide insights in risk assessment and decision making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process initiatives and drive performance.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity and compliance with financial and underwriting guidelines and mandates.
- Handle the Guarantee claims and recovery processes in conjunction with the claims and finance.
- Stay updated on best practices in financial analysis and data management, broad economic and industry trends specific to the retail industry and commercial insurance as well as general economic and market conditions.
- Interact and collaborate with internal teams, Recovery attorneys, Brokers and major representatives as may be required.
