**Job Title**:Petroleum Tanker Driver
**Department**:Operations
**Reports to**:ACM
**Location**:Nelspruit
**Salary**:As per NBCRFLI collective agreement
**Key Purpose**:
The Operator is responsible for the transportation of Dangerous Goods.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
- To collect and deliver customer’s product in a safe and responsible manner.
- To liaise with operations manager daily regarding the collection and delivery of customers products
- To carry out daily vehicle checks and to report defects immediately.
- Report delays to Controller timeously
- Report accidents, incidents or near misses immediately
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly, signed, and returned to the office on completion of each trip.
- Responsible for the load from loading until off-loading
- Drives in a responsible and safe manner.
- Adheres to customer and company safety regulations.
- Adheres to all legal requirements.
- Is responsible for his own safety.
- Looks after all safety equipment and vehicle equipment issued and ensures damaged equipment is reported as soon as possible.
- Responsible for his own safety and health according to the OHS Act and ensures that other staff members and visitors act responsibly while on the company’s premises.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance to HSEQ.
- Move and shunt vehicles for COF and or repairs as and when required.
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- Be in possession of a valid code 14 (DGP) and Public Drivers Permit
- Minimum 5 years driving experience of which 3 years must be in fuel industry.
- Must be in possession of dangerous goods certificate issued by an accredited institution.
- Be willing to be trained in the company’s Fleet Management System
- Knowledge of hazmat
- Comply with medical requirements.
