**Job Title: Shift Electrician**

**Location: Kuilsriver, Cape Town**

We are seeking an experienced Shift Electrician who will be responsible for maintenance done effectively and accurately in such a way as to ensure minimum downtime. Required to work within a complex manufacturing business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Check plant and equipment to ensure optimum working condition.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Conduct regular checks and tuning adjustments.
- Performing pre-planned maintenance tasks.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Report defect, which cannot be repaired immediately.
- Monitor production processes and reports to minimise and account for loss of productivity.
- Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.

**Requirements**:

- Maintenance Electrical Qualification (Trade Tested Red Seal)
- Wireman’s license
- 3-5 years’ experience as a qualified maintenance electrician.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical fixtures, fittings, repairs, and maintenance thereof.
- Experience in Electrical installations and maintenance thereof.
- Ability to plan and implement preventative maintenance.
- Experience within the Steel Manufacturing Industry preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
