Vet Nurse/animal Welfare Assistant

You MUST currently reside in Cape Town

Animal Welfare Assistant needed for a busy animal shelter located in HOUT BAY. Must be able to work Saturdays or Sundays.
- Experience as a VET NURSE or AWA
- Able to cope under pressure
- Experience with handling difficult dogs and cats
- Excellent written and spoken English (Xhosa and Afrikaans a plus)
- Ability to multi-task
- A minimum of 3 years work experience working at a shelter or at a vet practice.
- Excellent people skills

Duties involve testing dogs and cats, vaccinating, bandage changes, giving medication, assisting the vet with animals brought in to the shelter who are ill or injured, advising owners on how to care for the pets, maintaining and monitoring animal records, taking bookings, dealing with payments and handling enquiries, etc.
