Head - HIV/Aids & TB

**Requirements**:

- Relevant medical degree or nursing qualification (e.g. MBChB; BCur

Nursing)
- MPH or similar qualification will be an added advantage
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South

Africa (HPCSA) or South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Five (5) years’ relevant experience in the field of HIV/AIDS/STI and

TB.

Key Performance Areas
- Ensure effective implementation of TB, STI, HTS, PMTCT and other HIV

prevention, care and treatment programmes by developing

strategic plans and policies; conducting operational research;
managing internal and external funds and liaising with external

stakeholders
- Ensure implementation of the multisectoral strategy in order to

mainstream HIV/AIDS in the City and engage in a community-based

response to HIV/AIDS and TB
- Ensure effective implementation of the National TB control

programme
- Manage the HAST unit which includes managing the staff; planning

programme schedule; co-ordinate work activities and action plans;
identify training needs; monitoring and evaluation of budgets and

supporting the City Health Finance unit on HIV/TB grants
- General support to the HAST Coordinators and other support staff in

the areas by providing training, capacity development and

mentoring; providing relevant information to the Director City Health

and Area Managers/PPHC Heads to keep them up to date with

developments in the field of HIV/AIDs/STI and TB and to assist the

**Director**: City Health and Manager: Specialised Health by responding

to and auctioning tasks assigned in order to support primary

healthcare.
