Draughtsman / Estimator

**Mt. Edgecombe. **Opportunity exists for competent Draughtsman / Estimator who is technically inclined and able to use drawing software and programming with solid experience in the steel and aluminium industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Produce accurate drawings for the workshop
- Complete accurate bill of materials for all jobs
- Supervise, plan, control and co-ordinate functions of drawing office
- Timeous release of job cards, programs and drawing packs
- Ensure plans and drawings as well as job cards are of optimum quality and accuracy
- Communication with customers and site visits are necessary
- Data storage and management
- Design reviews
- Analysing documents and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Preparing material and cost estimates
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clientele
- Compiling and recording actual costs
- Understanding the project / program and its requirements

**Requirements**:

- Experience in Steel and Aluminium industry is ESSENTIAL
- Very energetic person, who is prepared to draw and supervise
- Must be technically inclined and able to use drawing software and programming
- Extremely meticulous and efficient in drawing
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Report writing and strategic planning skills
- Expertise with analytical tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
