Pathologist - Microbiology

We are looking for a Pathologist to join our team in the Microbiology department on a contract basis to analyse bodily fluids and tissue samples for diagnosis and/or treatment purposes.
**Minimum requirements**
FCPath or MMED qualification in the relevant discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience as pathologist
HPCSA registered for independent practice as pathologist in applicable discipline.
**Duties include but are not limited to**.
Manage the day to day working of Microbiology Laboratory in order to achieve an efficient and cost-effective service.
Oversee and supervise the laboratory technician/technologist in the relevant department Supervise laboratory staff with day-to-day routine work.
Provide clinical advice to General Practitioners.
Evaluate new techniques in consultation with the laboratory Director.
Represent the laboratory at CME meetings.
Signing out, verification and releasing of laboratory results
Revision and implementation of relevant documentation
Assist in the Microbiology Department.
To participate and assist in laboratory projects and Clinical Trials.
Training of laboratory staff on old and new techniques.
