Operations Manager

**R 720 000 Annually**
Our client, a rural development NGO, is searching for an experienced Operations Manager, who has worked previously within a NGO environment - to be based at their offices in Howick.
Duties include:
- Drafting operational plans and budgets;
- Setting up digital reporting systems for gathering data from the field;
- Analysing reported data, identifying variances and reasons for deviations;
- Providing support and advice for Programme Leader and field staff;
- Assisting management with fundraising and reporting;
- Critically assessing programme progress and proposing improvements;
- Training field staff in use of technology (e.g. computers, GPS mapping);
- Collaborating with other NGOs and exploring potential synergies for mutual benefit;
- Carry out all such tasks as are assigned by the Director;
- Be prepared to live on site and carry out the various responsibilities associated therewith.
- At least 10 years in a management and decision-making role
- Business Management Degree (or equivalent) at Honours or Masters level
- Experience in working with cross-cultural and cross-functional teams, particularly within an NGO environment.
- Honesty and integrity;
- A team-player, wanting the best for the team above personal ambition;
- A skilled writer, and good at compiling narrative reports for donors;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Self-motivated and a good motivator of fellow team members;
- Teachable, and able to teach others;
- Able to think strategically;
- Demonstrates good stewardship of resources, including time and finance;
- Good command of isiZulu will be an advantage.
