The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences has a growing reputation as a leading educational provider for undergraduate and postgraduate professional Psychology programmes. The Faculty of Community and Health Sciences is seeking to permanently appoint an Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer within the Department of Psychology.
- Facilitate learning and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of psychology.
- Conduct research and publish in peer reviewed journals.
- Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision.
- Provide academic leadership and administration.
- Undertake curriculum development and assessment.
- Participate in community engagement and outreach.
- Developing industry and academic partnerships.
- Responsible for administrative duties within the department, faculty and the university.

**Minimum Requirements**

**At the level of Associate Professor**
- A PhD in Psychology.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning and teaching, preferably in the field of clinical and/or research psychology.
- Evidence of expertise, national standing, and preferably an international presence in his/her discipline.
- The integration of community engagement for societal impact with learning and teaching and/or research.
- Applicants with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology must be registered with the HPCSA in the relevant category.
- Applicants with a Master's degree in Research Psychology must be registered or registrable with the HPCSA in the relevant category.
- A current record of successful research supervision at Masters level.
- Experience of doctoral level supervision.
- A current record of successful peer reviewed publications.
- Evidence of leading involvement in departmental and university committees.

**At the level of Senior Lecturer**
- A PhD in Psychology.
- Applicants with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology must be registered with the HPCSA in the relevant category.
- Applicants with a Master's degree in Research Psychology must be registered or registrable with the HPCSA in the relevant category.
- Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Postgraduate research supervision experience.
- A current record of successful peer reviewed publications.
- Added advantages- Registration with the HPCSA in the category of Clinical or Research Psychology.
- Experience and interest in neuropsychology.
