S6 Core Description
To execute and manage the accurate and timely implementation of the end-to-end Payroll process within BCX and ensure adherence and compliance to established BCX Payroll standards, processes, and procedures. Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
- Run the overall payroll for designated Payroll area/s, in line with established Payroll policies, procedures and controls, to ensure fulfilment of all procedural/legislative requirements.
- Recommend and assist in developing and/or implementing new or revised Payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure ongoing compliance with legislative requirements.
- Maintain and oversee an end-to-end e-Document Management System to organise and maintain employee payroll data.
- Submit the monthly payroll run reports to the Senior Manager: Payroll for verification and submission to Finance, to ensure all measures are taken to safeguard the confidentiality of pay information and all statutory obligations (PAYE etc.) are met timeously.
- Execute the monthly payroll process including calculations, deductions, and payments of salaries for the designated Payroll area/s and report any issues to leadership to avert any risks associated with payroll processing.
- Oversee the generation of appropriate reports and statistics for the HR team on payroll matters, such as Departmental employment costs; employee leave, timesheets, to enable effective planning and forecasting.
- Perform aggregated complex data analyses and processing to ensure that any existing gaps in the Payroll Administration process are closed and to ensure that the system enables accurate and timeous payment of employees.
- Monitor all employee payroll records for accuracy and coordinate with the Employee Experience Centre regarding all employee changes in information (i.e., terminations, new hires, and any other relevant details) within the BU to ensure all payroll data remains up-to-date and changes are authorised.
- Recommend changes or implement new processes around existing Payroll processes to meet shifting operational requirements.
- Supervise and oversee the activities of direct reports to ensure efficient functioning of the payroll environment.
- Provide active assistance to direct reports in the case of escalated payroll issues and provide effective resolutions to remedy and close out outstanding payroll query cases.
- Establish and implement the appropriate training and development programmes for Administrator: Payroll staff to build technical competency and capability.

Minimum 3 Years’ Experience in a Payroll / Finance / Accounting environment, of which at least 2 years should at Supervisor/Specialist level.

If the highest qualification is grade 12, Minimum 5 Years’ Experience in a Payroll / Finance / Accounting environment, of which at least 2 years should at Supervisor/Specialist level. Certifications Certified Payroll Practitioner (SAPA) SAP HCM Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry SAPA - South African Payroll Association Level of Engagement & Span of Control
