Automotive Quality Foreman/team Leader, Pretoria

Automotive OEM is looking to appoint a Quality Team Lead Technician/Foreman with a minimum N4 + trade (Mechanical, Motor Mech, Autotronics) or equivalent and 3 years motor industry or related industry (motor vehicle repair) knowledge/experience. Team leader experience will be an added advantage. Heavy repair & rolls repair experience will be an added advantage.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Quality Process
Primary purpose:

- To develop and motivate team members to deliver quality vehicles using Company Production Systems
- Drive JPH achievement and escalation of Quality concerns
- Drive process discipline and report abnormalities
- Monitor line stoppages, maintenance stops and report to root cause owner
- Work cross-functionally with others to achieve 95% + FTT target
- Take ownership of area and control/stabilize production quality expectations
- Manage online and offline repairs
- Manage DS&Rs/Bonus parts in area of responsibility
- Drive and maintain 5s principles

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

- Ensuring effectiveness of work group meetings and daily production readiness at start and end of shift
- Support Process Coach to maintain FPS and process discipline
- Perform PJOs, Process Confirmation, Start-up, Close-out as per FPS cadence
- Train inspectors and improve area versatility
- Train and align inspectors on FCPA & other quality standards
- Enforce discipline and adherence to standards by inspectors/team members
- Improve and maintain world class 5s standards
- Update FPS documentation as per standard, attendance, roll-up matrix etc.
- Use FPS processes to drive change and escalate concerns through the GPA database
- Effectively communicate with process coach on any abnormalities
- Strive to improve quality and consistently engage with FCPA to improve inspection
- Kaizen activities, continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in FCPA alignment activities
- Problem solving to stabilize production
- Manage & monitor QLS repair comments
- Assist repair team with technical knowhow
- Work with and lead the repair team to ensure seamless repair operation and manage ageing VOW in area of responsibility
- Train and enforce use of authorized repair methods/Company Repair Manual
- Escalate Blitz quality concerns to relevant Quality and Production personnel

Qualifications and experience:
