The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is the leading independent provider of education in psychology, counselling and coaching, offering accredited undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.

SACAP is looking to employ a Student Support and Development Advisor for the Durban Campus. This role provides a full range of support and development services to enrich student life and promote student wellbeing and strengthen academic results and resilience. This role strongly liaises with the Student Administration team and reports directly to the Head of Student Support and Development.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing academic, psychosocial and student life support and development to SACAP’s students
- Acting as a point of contact for all student support and development needs
- Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
- Termly orientation per new cohort
- Monitoring student academic performance and engagement
- Tracking and documenting national Student Support and development metrics
- Study plans and career guidance
- One-on-one counselling (academic and personal)
- Awareness / advocacy campaigns
- Facilitating peer support and peer-assisted learning
- Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention
- Developing a community spirit amongst Durban Campus Students
- Utilising SACAP’s Student Management System to provide expert guidance to students

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Relevant 4-year degree in Psychology
- Academic Support experience preferred
- Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
- 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education
- Highly developed relationship building / Interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Strong administration skills***

**Operating Hours**:
This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:
Monday to Thursday: 08:30am to 17:00pm

Friday: 08:30am to 16:00pm
- _Note that you may be required to administer various student support webinars during the evenings, and/or attend Open Days from time to time, and therefore flexible hours do apply._
