Position: Wine Tasting Room Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional and passionate Wine Tasting Room Manager to oversee the operations of our prestigious winery in Stellenbosch. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in creating a delightful and enchanting experience for our esteemed guests. As the Wine Tasting Room Manager, you will bring your expertise in wines, exceptional customer service skills, and leadership capabilities to lead our team in delivering memorable experiences that celebrate the world of wine.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Wine Tasting Experience: Create a warm, welcoming, and inviting atmosphere that appeals to our guests, ensuring that their wine tasting experiences are unforgettable.

2. Team Leadership: Inspire and motivate a diverse team of wine enthusiasts, fostering a positive work environment that encourages growth and excellence.

3. Customer Engagement: Develop strong connections with our customers by understanding their unique tastes, preferences, and interests, and offering personalized recommendations and insights.

4. Wine Education: Conduct engaging and informative wine tastings, sharing your knowledge of wine varieties, regions, production techniques, and food pairings to enhance the overall experience for our clientele.

5. Inventory Management: Collaborate with our cellar team to ensure optimal stock levels of wines, accessories, and merchandise, maintaining an attractive and well-curated retail space.

6. Event Planning: Organize and host wine-related events and special occasions, including tastings, wine pairing dinners, and private functions, catering to the desires and interests of our guests.

7. Sales and Upselling: Utilize your exceptional sales skills to promote wine club memberships, wine purchases, and additional wine-related products, enhancing the overall revenue of the tasting room.

8. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, responsible alcohol service practices and to create a secure environment for our guests and staff.

Qualifications:
1. Wine Enthusiast: A deep passion for wine, along with extensive knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and production techniques. Wine-related certifications (e.g., WSET) are highly desirable.

2. Customer-Centric Mindset: Exceptional customer service skills with a particular focus on understanding and catering to the desires and preferences of our clientele.

3. Leadership Experience: Previous experience in managing a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment that drives excellence and teamwork.

4. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with customers and team members alike.

5. Sales Acumen: Proven ability to drive sales and upsell wine club memberships and wine-related products, with a natural ability to build relationships and rapport.

6. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to plan and execute events and manage inventory effectively.

7. Professionalism: Exemplary presentation and a polished demeanor to provide a sophisticated and welcoming environment for our guests.

8. Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required in the dynamic wine industry.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual, Permanent
Part-time hours: 45 per week

Pay: R12,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
