**Duties will include the following**:
- Ensure that an EHS management system is maintained in accordance with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 standards and requirements as per company Responsible Care System.
- Maintenance of all relevant SHEQ documented information and records (retained information) i.e. reports, Risk assessments, audit reports, etc.
- Ensure continual improvement of the SHEQ management system.
- Conduct and/or participate in Risk Assessments as and when required.
- Participate and contribute on relevant EHS aspects with regards to Project teams for plant upgrade projects, MOC’s, etc.
- Processing of information and data to ensure all documentation related to the SHEQ and RC Management System are continually updated on the server.
- Maintain, control and distribute latest revisions of SHEQ, RC Management System and documentation (policies, manuals, standard operating procedures, works instructions, forms, meeting minutes, etc.) - as and when updates are required and to all relevant staff.
- Fulfil and coordinate First Aider function.
- RC - ensure PPE and other EHS related items are ordered, fulfil role of SHE Committee secretary, Data capturing - water (usage), waste (disposal volumes & certificates) and other RC related data, update ARISCU information (non
- conformances, etc.)
- Logging and updating the safety/environmental improvers register.
- Ensure requirements and input related to IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and company Responsible Care system relevant to this position are adhered to.
- Secretary for the Employment Equity Committee.
- Responsibilities in terms of the appointment as Information Protection Officer (IPO)
- Provide guidance to executives and employees.
- Drive and coordinate the implementation of the set of Information Protection rules, especially the Information Protection Minimum Requirements (IPMR) into the daily work and processes.
- Unit internal/site-related development and communication of information and assistance about Information Protection
- Communication of unit-/site-related requirements to Information Protection bodies
- Reporting to local management and Information Protection governance. Annual reporting of the unit-specific Information Protection KPIs
- Assist with planning, coordination and implementation of measures and schemes adapted to create an Information Protection awareness.
- Plan, coordinate and provide Information Protection trainings (using materials furnished)
- Steer/perform Information Protection activities for a continuous improvement process (CIP) in the unit or at the site (surveys, risk analysis,)
- Cooperate in carrying out Information Protection reviews. and Participate in IPO trainings and exchange of experiences events**Inherent Requirements**
- Grade 12 (Matric) and; National Diploma in Production and Operations Management (NQF level 6) / National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (NQF level 6)/Safety Management (NQF level 6)/NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety/SAMTRAC or similar
- Relevant training regarding management systems requirements for ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16 949:2016, ISO 9001:2015; Qualified Lead Auditor for ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a EHS Specialist working in the Chemical manufacturing industry or similar environment.
- Computer literate (Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience with relevant legal licensing and permit requirements (e.g. Air Emissions Licenses, Industrial Effluent discharge licenses, etc.)
- Excellent level of written and spoken English is essential and A systematic, logical and analytical approach with attention to detail is important for the compilation and operation of safety management systems.
