**Minimum requirements for the role**:

- Must have a B.Sc./M.Sc. Agric Animal Science, or similar tertiary qualification from a recognized institution
- Must be SACNASP registered (or in the process thereof)
- Experience in the industry, specifically with monogastric formulation and on-farm interaction with farmers and feed mills, is strongly preferred
- Must have a high level of computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), with basic knowledge of feed formulation programs (Best mix, Format etc)
- Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required
- Must have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel (10% of time into Africa)
- Formulating diets for all species, with a main focus on monogastric species (Layer, Broiler, and Swine).
- Preparing least cost feed formulations using the principal software as decided upon by the Technical Director.
- Supporting the Technical Manager in providing technical support to clients on farms in the assigned region.
- Conducting feed mill hygiene and biosecurity audits and husbandry/ management assessments to assess and adjust to best practice.
- Offering general technical support to allocated customers at organized events or on planned visits.
- Managing technical administration tasks where necessary, including maintaining technical files for selected clients detailing feed formulations, animal performance information, and analysis results.
- Reading and understanding technical articles and information shared within department.
- Presenting at Technical meetings and external stakeholder events to share knowledge and ideas.
- Assisting in managing the filing of important technical information on Dropbox.
- Assisting with the planning and execution of species information days and seminars for clients where necessary.
- Researching and collating information for technical projects and issues.
- Collecting and cataloguing feed samples from clients in-field.
