To lead a quality and safe patient care experience that meets the set clinical standards through the optimal management of human and organizational resources within a structured unit.
**Responsibilities: (but not limited to)**
- Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
- Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
- Lead and manage the staff in the unit
- Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilization of resources
- Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
- Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
- Manage key stakeholder relations
**Requirements**:
- Registered with SANC as Registered/Professional Nurse
- Post Grad Diploma in Critical Care Nursing: Medical and Surgical advantageous
- Post Grad Diploma in Nursing Management/Education essential
- 5+ years' experience nursing within the Medical unit
- 2-3+ years' experience leadership experience within the hospital essential
- Experience with Infection Prevention and Control; Clinical Facilitation will be advantageous
- Auditing and accreditation processes
- Clinical risk management
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
- Financial management
- Human resource processes including employee relations
- Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
- Management of staff productivity
- Nursing functional knowledge
- Patient complaint management
- Relevant nursing legislation
