iKhokha Talent team is searching for a Data Scientist.

In this role you will create data science models. You will be involved in interesting projects and will gain data insights into merchant behaviour within the South African digital economy.

**So, what will you do?**

You will be given a window into a sample of the GDP of the South African economy, complimented with merchant mobile app behaviour.

You will be responsible for providing predictions into merchant behaviour using heaps of financial transactional and mobile app data. These predictions will be used to provide actionable insight and improved efficiency, utilizing the current MarTech stack technologies.

You will build data science models that will be used during acquisition, onboarding and promoting usage of our iKhokha products provided by iKhokha.

**Deal Breakers**

BSC Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or Engineering.

Must have Python data science programming skills.

The quantitative analysis aspect of the role will require:
3 + years’ experience working with using Query languages such as SQL to manipulate data and for presenting data while finding insights.

3+ years’ experience in numerical packages like R, Python with SciPy and Scikit

4 + years’ experience creating and updating data science models.

3 + years’ experience in visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Excel.

3 + years’ experience demonstrating strong analytical skills with the ability to explain, gather, analyze and deploy solutions and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Intermediate statistical experience and techniques.

**What would you be responsible for?**

Creating and updating supervised and unsupervised models.

Engaging with the data analysts in identifying significant features for the models.

Identifying and evaluating the best model techniques to provide the best solution for the relevant business objective.

Design experiments to evaluate hypotheses and data science models.

Engaging with the data team to formalize reporting, where repeating reports or common dashboard are required.

Ability to articulate your findings and highlight patterns found within the data.

Use analytics tools such as Tableau/PowerBI/Excel, to provide actionable insights into performance metrics.

Understand business processes in order to translate it to logical data models.
