Laser Technician

Our client is a leader in new, ground breaking chemical technology in the world market, specialising in isotope separation. They currently require a Laser Technician in one of their divisions.

The laser technician will form part of the Enlightened Isotope team. The main objective of this role is to work with the team generating a collimated atomic vapor in a high vacuum vessel, operating laser systems, combination of laser wavelengths, irradiation of vapor, TOFMS measurement of enrichment, product recovery, service, and maintenance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct experiments.
- Capture date
- Suggest improvements and alternatives
- Maintain the facility.
- Calibrate instrumentation
- Assist with quality control
- Update SOPs

**Requirements**:

- At least 3 years' relevant experience
- Scientific method orientated - organised, dedicated, accurate
- Problem solving skills
- Inquisitive
- Attention to detail
- Patient
- Interest in research
- Dedicated
- Willingness to learn and take advice from team members
- Able to work under pressure
- Computer literate - Microsoft Office minimum
- Good communication skills
- Experience with gas handling (recommended)
- Strong Mechanical background
- Skills in pipe work, pump, compressor mechanics.
